Ways to be still:
- Do breathing exercises: Pause, breathe, and reflect. Close your eyes, count to 20 – inhale, exhale.
- Talk a long bath: Enjoy your favorite music or just listen to the sound of the water.
- Find a quiet place and simply sit in silence: Sit in silence for 5 to 10 minutes. Use this time to listen to the quietness.
- Take a walk in silence: Turn off the phone. Allow your mind to drift off and enjoy the silence.
- Painting and coloring through art: Both are great ways to find stillness. Relax into the rhythm of the art.
Be Still
Learning how to be still brings peace to your chaos, and calmness to your body. Oftentimes, we push aside stillness replacing it with more tasks.
When taking time to be still, focus on doing nothing. Sit still and enjoy the silence.
I’m practicing stillness more watching the sunrise while drinking my coffee on the patio, or getting up a little earlier to enjoy quiet time. Sitting quietly sometimes, just to renew my spirit and regain my energy brings me joy.
