Memories

We had social media back in the day.

Β It was called..

Go outside and play”

And we stayed outside till the street lights came on. That was the signal to head home. πŸ˜‚

We played outside using our imagination with or without toys, just enjoying each other and having fun.

Just to name a few games we played.

Match the colors πŸ”΅πŸŸ‘
Jump rope πŸ˜‰
Potato sack πŸ˜€

I would love to hear about your fun memories.

More memories favorites we played.

Have a great day. Thank you for visiting today. T’😌

  1. I had the best time ever playing outside. No one I knew of wanted to stay in. Staying in meant you were being punished. We used to ride bikes, skate, hoola hoop, race, play jacks, hopscotch, and the list goes on. Wherever our imagination took us, we went. We didn’t have to have lots of toys. We could sit in an empty yard and pretend we were on a spaceship. It was the best time ever!

Thank you for this post. Honestly, this is almost how I live my life now, but of course with a lot of restrictions. I believe if I can imagine it, I can just about make it happen or I will definitely try.😊

    Have a wonderful Thursday!πŸ™πŸ½πŸ’•

  2. Indeed! I remember playing outside with the other kids until midnight when the moon was full!

We used to congregate and play in a nearby sandbox, too.. climb trees.. play tag… Trying to hit tin cans with flip-flops/slippers… Hide and seek… Play with sticks and marbles…

I think those were better times to grow up. And lesser mental health issues then. I think this social media lark made things a lot worse, with some people wanting what others have and they don’t, wanting to become someone else, pressured to keep up appearances to hide insecurities.. in the old days, we weren’t scared to get muddy! Of course, I’m only talking about where I grew up. I understand things could be different elsewhere 😊

  3. Dodgeball and kickball were two of my favorites from back in the day. And I don’t know about you, but I had to beat that street light. πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜† I had to be home before it came on unless it was the sometime.

  4. We really enjoyed life growing up back in the day. Nothing compared to the feeling of being outside, playing with the neighbors, gossiping, and hanging out by the fire hydrant πŸš’ on those hot summer days. So much fun, fun, fun. But once those streetlights came on πŸŒ†, you better rush your behind home! πŸ˜‚
