Are you a good judge of character?
I would like to say yes, I characterize people by their actions not their words or words from others.

I had to actually study how to become a good judge of someone’s character upon first meeting them. I have had many errors of judgement in relationships until recently, as a result.

My previous comment to this thread goes with yours. Righteous judgement is only possible with Proper “Spiritual” Discernment. (1 Thess 5:17-19 and Eph 6:11-13). However, we should only righteously judge when called to by God and not just for the sake of judging. It should also be clear that Eternal or condemning judgement IS NOT OURS to make and if we are Christians who condemningly judge others, especially other Christians then we should read 1 John 3 and STOP that kind of hypocrisy. 🙂

Sometimes, It gets difficult. Because you cannot presume someone intentions by just viewing their actions.

I leave the judging up to my spiritual discernment. (1 Thess 5:17-23)

I would have to say “Yes”. I used to doubt myself all of the time. However; All In all, I find out that I “AM” a good judge of character. And most people just can’t handle there own insecurities. And if there is a target around most people are quick to project there insecurities on that target.

I wish I were a good judge of character. Sometimes I judge right, and sometimes wrong.

We can judge with righteous judgment—we can judge rightly—by submitting to God in faith and seeking to understand His Word. This is one possible application of Jesus’ words in John 7:24: “Do not judge by the outward appearance, but judge with righteous judgment” (NASB). While this statement is pithy and quotable, it is not simply an isolated proverb. It is a line of dialogue from a historical narrative. Jesus said these words to a specific group of people at a specific time, so the context of John 7:24 deserves be explored before a modern application is made.
